hey – i’m ben.  all the drawings on this site are mine, i made them.  i’m living in knoxville, tn and help manage a small design studio called the village.  if you’re interested, i’m currently taking requests for prints – so, if you’ve got a favorite let me know and i’ll try to work it into production.  also, check out my daily drawing blog – i try to post a new sketch every morning.  sometimes i forget.  sometimes i don’t.

a little about me:  i’ve lived a few places ’round the world.   i love my fam; wife jessica, and kids we call luke and ezra.  there’s also a dog.  i spend a good deal of time in front of computers – i like to try to make it up by visiting the woods.  at the beginning of 2010, i suddenly lost my hearing and am still completely deaf.  i don’t say that for sympathy, i’m really quite content in my life – just saying, incase you try to call me – i probably won’t answer the phone.  and, if i do, the conversation will be a bit one-sided.

how do i make these drawings?  well… most of them are with indian ink and a dip-pen.  some have spray paint.  others use watercolor.  a few are with more primitive tools found in the kids’ section of the art store…

how long does it take to make one?  pfft, i don’t know — some happen overnight, others i pick away at for weeks.

sure, sure... art, meaning, technique and all that - i just want one for my wall
